|
| There are two types of product pages on the Rotations web site. The
first style is a page that is strictly devoted to one product or style of
product. This is a single product page. An example would be our Ultimate Box
Set pages or accessories product pages. Usually those pages have a simple
address in your browser window that ends with the page name and extension
asp or html (/sleeves.asp). |
| |
| The second style is a search engine page.
These pages usually displays a variety of the same product by criteria. For
example if you choose the link: "our newest compilation releases" - the
product will be displayed by title in a descending order by stock number
with 10 items displaying per page. You can also see the results by choosing
a certain criteria from the search engine like "Pop." You can distinguish a
search generated page by the teal green bar under the logo with the number
of items in your search. Also the address showing in your browser address
window will be quite different. All you will see is a long address that finds
all the search criteria that you chose to display the product from the web
site database that you want to view. |

Rotations has a two field search engine to find the product that you would
like to view and order on our site. Each field is designed for to bring up
one of two search criteria. The two search engine criteria are:
- Category (pull down menu)
- Title-Artist (text field)
|
| The first criteria is a pull down menu based on
values from the web site database. The second criteria
is where you enter your own search selections. We
recommend that you use only one field per search while
the other field is are left empty (search all). However,
in the paragraphs below that explain each field there
are suggestions on using multiple fields. This process
will narrow your search and avoid frustrating null
results. |

| Rotations has a two field search engine to find the product that you would
like to view and order on our site. Each field is designed for to bring up
one of two search criteria. The two search engine criteria are: |
| |
| The
values you see in the "Category" pull down menu are from our database
entries. If you were searching
for a specific product line or style of music (like "Pop") that
Rotations sells you would choose one of these criteria. For example, if you want to view
"Hot Hits Country" CDs and their
respective tracks your results are the most recent releases in a descending
order by stock number in the "Hot Hits Country" category. You will get 10 CD’s per page with a button at the bottom to either
move forward or backward. While
viewing the search engine results you can order any of the items listed. The
check out link is at the bottom of the page. You may still page back to the search page to continue to search
product. You may receive a null
or inaccurate result if you the second field (Manufacturer) or the third field
(Title – Artist) has an entry. However you can narrow your search using the first (Category) and third
fields (Title-Artist). For example if you were looking for songs by
George Strait on "Hot Hits Country" you will only receive the results that
have that artist on that issue.
|
| |
| return to the top |
| |
| The values you enter in the "Title-Artist" text field are to search the
title and/or artist in our database. If you were searching for a specific
song by a title and/or artist you would enter it in this text box. For
example, if you were searching for "Baby Love" by the Supremes you would
type the entry: Baby Love -Supremes. You can also type "Baby Love" just for
that specific title. Or you can type "Supremes" for all their songs. In this
example you may receive better results by simply typing "Supremes" instead
of "Diana Ross & The Supremes." It could have been entered in the database
as "Diana Ross And The Supremes" You will get 10 CD’s per page with a button
at the bottom to either move forward or backward. While viewing the search
engine results you can order any of the items listed. The check out link is
at the bottom of the page. You may still page back to the search page to
continue to search product. You may receive a null or inaccurate result if
you the first field (Category) or the second field (Manufacturer) has an
entry. However you can narrow your search using the first (Category) and
second (Manufacturer) when looking for a specific song on a vendor or issue.
For example if you were looking for songs by The Backstreet Boys on any
"X-Mix" issue you will only receive the results that have that artist on the
various issues by that vendor. |
| |
| Additionally, in the
Title-Artist field you can type in the name of a specific CD to see if we
sell the title. For example, you if saw the CD "The Party Zone" advertised
on television on an info commercial late one night. the following morning,
you would type in "Party Zone" the text field (Title-Artist). The CD will
come up immediately. At that point you can order the CD and would probably
ship out the next business day. |
| |
| Two other points about the
second field (Title-Artist): |
-
Avoid using the word "The" as
the first word
-
The text field but it is not
case sensitive
